Job Summary

Under minimal direction, lead, develop, and implement logistics initiatives to support Micro Motion, Inc., global needs. Understand and continuously improve our logistics cost structure. Monitor worldwide logistics activities and optimize the service received by all world areas.

Job Description

1. Develop a superior understanding of Micro Motion’s logistics needs with an emphasis on cost, speed, and flexibility. Create and implement global logistics strategies that will fulfill those needs.
2. Using our continuous improvement process, e-Sourcing, and other tools identify and implement logistics cost improvements in alignment with the company’s goals.
3. Ensure high levels of global carrier performance on a global basis. Initiate corrective actions if logistics providers are not meeting expectations on cost, quality, or service.
4. Analyze global logistic lanes and proactively lead the implementation of temporary or permanent changes to minimize disruptions on Micro Motion’s global supply chain.
5. Manage in-bound, interplant, and out-bound traffic that supports the company’s global supply chain management strategy.
6. Provide accurate logistics data to support total cost analysis on sourcing decisions. Work with strategic sourcing to ensure logistics are an integral part of all sourcing changes.
7. Supervise other logistics personnel as required with special attention on coaching and development.
8. Oversee global manufacturing and service organization’s freight practices.
9. Lead the preparation of strategic initiatives to support key planning meetings.
10. Coordinate with Import/Export Compliance to establish, update and implement policies and enforcement of regulations. Work with custom brokers to clear goods and coordinate all international freight movements to support import and export compliances.
11. Maintain constant communication with Micro Motion Inc. site personnel to determine international logistical needs regardless of mode of transportation. Respond to those needs through creative logistical programs and carrier selection to meet or exceed requirements.
12. Manage global freight recovery. Work with customer service and finance to ensure high levels of freight recovery on a global basis.
13. Collaborate with Emerson and Emerson Process Management colleagues and ensure leverage with corporate-wide programs and suppliers.
14. Establish freight budgets annually and monitor actual costs on monthly basis (PPV).
15. Lead the implementation of transportation management systems and realize its full potentials.

Job Qualifications

Requires strong organizational, communication and data analyzing skills. Outstanding strategic agility and business acumen. In depth knowledge of the global transportation industry and distribution practices.

Experience

At least five years experience in the transportation and logistics environment. Knowledge of international documentation, government regulations, and global distribution network.

Education

Undergraduate Degree with emphasis on Transportation and Logistics, required. Graduate degree preferred. Professional certification (APICS or ISM) strongly preferred
